Dr. Chris Steers graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1988. He began his veterinary career in Gainesville, FL. After 10 years of small animal practice, he decided to move closer to his hometown and start his own practice. Stuart Sound Animal Hospital opened its doors in 1997 and has been providing quality veterinary care ever since.

Stuart Sound Animal Hospital originally started out as a single doctor practice with two employees and has grown steadily over the years.  Dr. Myles Rowley joined the family as a full-time associate in 2012. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in 2008 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.  Dr. Rowley’s veterinary interests include advanced dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, and preventative medicine. She also believes that alternative modalities such as Acupuncture, Herbs, and Laser therapy can complement traditional Western medicine for a variety of diseases, which motivated her to receive her Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi Institute in 2014.

Dr. Patricia Pike was born and raised in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. She first received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at La Salle University, Bogota. Dr. Pike gained acceptance at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where she earned her American DVM in 1995. Since that time Dr. Pike has been practicing small animal medicine with a special interest in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. After finishing her education, Dr. Pike moved to West Palm Beach, Florida with her family.

Dr. Lile grew up in the small city of Paducah, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Western Kentucky University in 2015 before going to veterinary school at Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine and joined our staff as a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Her professional interests include small animal surgery and small animal ophthalmology. Dr. Lile is a member of the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals of Martin County.

As the practice continued to grow, it was apparent that it would soon outgrow the previous facility. Dr. Steers began planning his own free-standing building which was completed in July 2013. Stuart Sound Animal Hospital is very proud of the new, state-of-the-art facility and all of its advancements such as digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasonography, computerized records, and the ability to run almost all diagnostic tests “in-house”. The hospital also houses one of the only positive pressure ventilated operating rooms on the Treasure Coast in order to provide the safest surgical environment possible.

We at Stuart Sound Animal Hospital pride ourselves in quality medicine and patient care and we look forward to caring for your loved ones for years to come. We welcome new and old clients to come tour our new facility, meet our health care team, and become a part of our family!
