Dr. Chris Steers graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University with a Bachlor of Science degree is animal biology.  He then went on to become a 1988 honors graduate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Steers practiced for nine years in Gainesville at a large AAHA certified hospital prior to moving to Stuart.  He opened Stuart Sound Animal Hospital in December of 1997.  Dr. Steers has been married to his wife, Cheryl Steers since 1983.  They have two children - Shawn is a engineering student at the University of Florida and Shelbi is the South Fork High School varsity cheerleading Captian.  At home Dr. Steers has two dogs - "Libby" and "Molly" both Labradoodles and three cats - "Merlin", "Tyler", and "Dufus".
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. David Carlson is a graduate of Cornell University and formally practiced in Massachusetts where he owned three veterinary practices and one emergency clinic.  His special interests are dermatology, dentistry, diagnostics and geriatric medicine.  In 2001, Dr. Carlson and his wife purchased a house in Port St. Lucie and became Florida residents.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Lisa Bolanda started her career of caring for animals in 1992 by working with the Humane Society of Broward County.  She worked with the foster care program nursing orphaned kittens and puppies.  Four years later, she moved on to the clinic area of the facility to become a veterinary technician.  After moving to Stuart, she started working with Stuart Sound Animal Hospital in February of 1998.  She currently has five cats - "B.B.", "Chrissy", "Bob", "Little Cat", and "JAKE".  She has two dogs "Cinnamon" and "Lucy Liu".  Recently added to the Bolanda group was a beautiful bouncing baby boy.  Joseph Thomas Bolanda was born July 14, 2008.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Hollie Rhatigan has been working with Stuart Sound Animal Hospital since August of 2002.  She started as an assistant and quickly moved up to veterinary / dental technician.  In her spare time Hollie enjoys fostering unwanted animals and finding them new homes.  At home she currently has three dogs - "Becca", "Kami" and "Fritter".She also has four cats - "Pixie", "Minnow", "Booger", and "Scrappy".  She also has two crested geckos and a cichlid aquarium. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  
 
Tia Beasley has been working in the animal field since 1998.  She started working with Stuart Sound Animal Hospital in October 2002 ago as a veterinary assistant/technician.  Tia has dedicated her life to saving lost and injured animals.  She has a cat named "Flicked" who was born with nerological problems.  Along with "Flick" lives five other cats "Sarah-Ann", "Jake", "Kelly", "MamaCat" and "Blaze". Four dogs share a home with these rescued cats - "Sasha" AKA "Chachi", "Skeeter", "Dilemma", and "Chance".
